OUR STORY

Our names are Mitch and Kelli VanOverloop. We are the 3rd owners of the Old Wooden Barn since it's been a wedding venue.

We have now taken on this new adventure of wedding barn owners. It isn't something we have always wanted to do, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity and immediately fell in love with the barn! There is something so beautiful about being able to create a memorable day for a man and a woman who are beginning their lives together! Mitch and I promise all of our couples that we will work hard to make their day as stress-free as possible. We also have staff on-site to help coordinate each event and make sure every detail is taken care of. It is our mission to provide professional and quality service to each of our couples and their guests.

ABOUT the OLD WOODEN BARN

The Old Wooden Barn was hand-built in 1905 by a man name Gerrit Smit. The barn was originally used for share croppers in the area as storage for their crops. After that, it was used as a space to build wooden boats. It has been converted to a wedding barn over the last 10 years and has seen many changes since then! The barn is located in Hudsonville, MI, nestled on 5 acres and is surrounded by farmland. With original hardwood floors, a cathedral height ceiling and hand-hewn beams, this barn is unforgettable! The chandelier and string lights throughout create a magical atmosphere that is hard to resist!

Our Marriage Policy

Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman and Himself, the Old Wooden Barn will only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. Further, the staff of the Old Wooden Barn shall only participate in and host weddings between a man and a woman. We thank you for respecting our Christian family values!
